Independent dental perspective in Skokie
Get a Dental Second Opinion Before Major Treatment
If you have been advised to undergo implants, reconstruction, surgery, extraction, or another significant treatment, it is reasonable to want greater certainty. We provide a thoughtful review so you can understand your options before deciding.
In-person at our Skokie office.
Seeking another perspective is a responsible step—not a criticism of your current dentist.
Clarity before commitment
Major treatment should not begin while important questions remain.
A second opinion is not about finding someone who will simply disagree. It is about understanding the diagnosis, the priorities, and the reasonable paths forward.
- Is the proposed treatment necessary?
- Are there less extensive alternatives?
- Does everything need to be completed now?
- Is the proposed sequence appropriate?
- What are the risks of waiting?
- How should longevity, function, appearance, and cost be weighed?
Common reasons to seek another perspective
Focused insight for significant dental decisions.
Our evaluation is tailored to the specific recommendation or uncertainty that brought you here.
Dental implants
Review implant recommendations, supporting bone and gum health, restorative goals, and sequencing.
Save or extract a tooth
Understand the prognosis, treatment tradeoffs, and why extraction or preservation has been recommended.
Gum, bone, or surgical care
Clarify the diagnosis, purpose of treatment, and how it fits into the broader plan.
Full-mouth reconstruction
Consider bite, function, appearance, priorities, and the proposed treatment sequence together.
Extensive restorative care
Review recommendations involving several crowns, bridges, replacements, or aging dental work.
Conflicting recommendations
Organize differing plans into understandable points of agreement, uncertainty, and choice.
Independent and respectful
A clearer view—without criticizing your current clinician.
Good clinicians can reasonably weigh complex cases differently. Our role is to help you understand the reasoning, evidence, and tradeoffs behind the available options.
- We do not contact your current provider without permission.
- Existing records can be reviewed when available.
- A definitive opinion may require an examination or additional diagnostics.
- You may continue care wherever you choose.
What to expect at your consultation
Enough information to make the next decision responsibly.
An honest result
A valuable second opinion does not have to be a different opinion.
The goal is confidence in your decision—not a predetermined answer.
Your review may:
- Confirm the original recommendation.
- Suggest a different sequence or priority.
- Identify reasonable alternatives.
- Recommend gathering more information before deciding.

Questions, answered
Before requesting a second opinion
Is it appropriate to seek a second dental opinion?
Yes. Significant treatment decisions deserve informed consent. Another perspective can help you understand the recommendation and make a more confident decision.
Will you contact my current dentist?
Not without your permission. If coordination or records are needed, our team will discuss that with you first.
What records should I bring?
Recent X-rays, scans, photographs, written treatment plans, and relevant dental history may be useful. Our team can help identify what is appropriate for your concern.
Will I need another examination or new imaging?
Possibly. A reliable clinical opinion may require an examination or diagnostics beyond the records you already have. We will explain what is recommended and why.
What if your opinion agrees with my current dentist?
Confirmation can be valuable. The purpose is to help you understand the reasoning and feel informed—not to produce a different recommendation.
Can you review an implant or full-mouth treatment plan?
Yes. These are common reasons patients seek another perspective. The appropriate evaluation depends on the plan, available records, and your clinical needs.
Can you evaluate whether a tooth should be saved or extracted?
Yes. When clinically appropriate, we can assess the tooth, supporting tissues, prognosis, and reasonable alternatives before explaining the tradeoffs.
Am I obligated to receive treatment at Crown Dental Club?
No. Requesting or completing a second-opinion consultation does not obligate you to transfer care or begin treatment here.
Will costs be explained before I decide?
Your second-opinion consultation is $250 and includes all necessary imaging. Any recommended treatment is priced separately. We will explain treatment options and anticipated fees before you decide whether to proceed.
