When care stops feeling simple
Complex does not have to mean confusing.
Conflicting recommendations or a long treatment history can make the next step hard to see. We help you understand what is happening, what matters most, and what can reasonably wait.
Prosthodontics & restorative dentistry
Restoring teeth starts with understanding the whole smile.
Restoring and replacing teeth.
A prosthodontist has advanced specialty training in restoring and replacing teeth. Dr. Paul Sung considers your bite, comfort, and appearance alongside the condition of your teeth.
Options may include crowns, bridges, implant-supported restorations, or full-mouth reconstruction. Your evaluation helps determine what can be preserved and how much treatment you need.
Restorative and surgical care, planned together.
Periodontics focuses on the supporting gums and bone. When both specialties are needed, Dr. Sung and periodontist Dr. Scott Drucker plan care together.
For example, the final restoration helps guide implant positioning, while gum and bone health inform treatment timing. Surgery is considered only when appropriate for your needs.

Questions, answered
Before you schedule
What is a prosthodontist?
A prosthodontist is a dentist with advanced specialty training in restoring and replacing teeth. This includes planning care involving crowns, bridges, dentures, and implant-supported restorations, as well as more extensive reconstructive needs.
Does seeing a prosthodontist mean I need full-mouth reconstruction?
No. Your concerns may involve one area or several. An evaluation helps determine the scope of care that makes sense for you. Seeing a prosthodontist does not commit you to extensive treatment.
What makes a dental case “complex”?
A case may be complex when it involves several teeth, prior treatment, multiple dental disciplines, competing priorities, or uncertainty about the best sequence of care.
Do I need a referral?
No. You may contact our team directly to discuss whether a comprehensive consultation is the right next step.
Can you coordinate with my current dentist or other specialists?
Yes. With your permission, records and findings can be coordinated with the other clinicians involved in your care.
Will I be pressured to start treatment?
No. The purpose of the consultation is to understand your situation and options. The decision and timing remain yours.
What should I bring to the first visit?
Bring any recent X-rays, scans, treatment plans, medication information, and questions you want answered. Our team can help identify which records would be useful.
Can you review a treatment plan I already received?
Yes. We can evaluate existing recommendations in the context of your current condition, goals, and available records.
How long will treatment take?
Timing varies by diagnosis, healing, sequencing, and your preferences. After evaluation, we will outline the likely phases and discuss ways to plan around your schedule.
How will I understand costs before deciding?
Your consultation fee is $250 and includes all imaging necessary for your evaluation. Any recommended treatment is priced separately. Before you decide whether to proceed, our team will explain your treatment options, anticipated fees, and proposed sequence of care.
