Dr. Paul Sung, DDS, MS
Prosthodontist | Advanced Restorative & Implant Dentistry
Dr. Paul Sung is a North Shore prosthodontist with advanced specialty training in complex restorative, implant, and reconstructive dentistry. Blending meticulous clinical precision with a nuanced understanding of function, materials, and aesthetics, he helps patients navigate some of dentistry’s most complex treatment needs with clarity and confidence. His approach is never simply to repair an individual tooth, but to consider how each decision contributes to the long-term function, health, and appearance of the entire smile.
Prosthodontic and Implant Expertise
As a prosthodontist, Dr. Sung restores and replaces teeth using his advanced expertise in how the teeth, bite, implants, and surrounding structures work together. His experience includes fixed and removable prosthodontics, implant-supported restorations, full-arch rehabilitation, and comprehensive restorative care.
At Crown Dental Club, Dr. Sung works closely with our general and multi-specialty team to coordinate complex treatment from diagnosis and surgical planning through the final restoration. This collaborative approach allows each phase of care to be considered as part of one comprehensive plan rather than a series of isolated procedures.
Advanced Training, Science, and Design
Originally from North Carolina, Dr. Sung earned his undergraduate degree in Zoology from North Carolina State University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. He then completed advanced specialty training in Prosthodontics at the University of Illinois Chicago, where he also earned a Master of Science in Oral Sciences. His graduate research focused on advanced implant materials and nanoscale surface coatings, reflecting the scientific rigor and curiosity he brings to clinical care.
That scientific mindset is complemented by a longstanding interest in art and graphic design, which has shaped his eye for proportion, form, balance, and detail. Those same principles influence his approach to restorative dentistry, where technical accuracy and thoughtful aesthetics must work together to create results that feel natural to the individual patient.
Thoughtful, Patient-Centered Care
Above all, Dr. Sung believes sophisticated dentistry should still feel deeply personal. He takes the time to understand each patient’s concerns, priorities, and goals, with an approach grounded in clear communication and thoughtful care. His goal is not simply to restore teeth, but to restore comfort, function, confidence, and quality of life with care designed to last.
Beyond the Practice
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Sung enjoys exploring new cultures through food and travel and spending time outdoors hiking, camping, climbing, fishing, and skiing.
